Vizslas are a Hungarian hunting dog that was
officially recognized by the American Kennel Club as the 115th
breed in back in November of 1960. Here at Windy Ridge Kennels,
all of our dogs are born from a distinguished pedigree line that
is OFA certified. They are family raised with lots of love, play
and attention. You will be guaranteed, in writing, that your dog
will be free of any genetic health problems for the first year
of ownership. All of our puppies are sold with their tails
docked, dew claws removed, first shots given and wormed twice.
Shipping and/or delivery of your new puppy is available, however
you are always welcome to come and visit our kennel/home and
pick out your new puppy in person! We have training programs
available for puppies and older dogs; our methods bring out the
natural hunting instincts that Vizslas are world renowned for.
In addition to our training programs, we have live birds for
sale to help you with your training of your young puppy and/or
older dog. Training with live birds helps the dog to learn the
skills of pointing, holding point and finding birds that are
hiding in brush cover.
Some Facts That Make Vizslas Great:
|

|
Their Notable Physical Beauty.
Vizslas are distinguished in their appearance; a
medium-sized defined muscular build and a short coated solid
golden-rust color (in different shadings). These dogs are
color coordinated; meaning that their eyes, nails, nose and
coat are all the same golden-rust color. I can say that
these are just downright gorgeous dogs.

They Are Natural Hunters With An
Excellent Ability To Take Training. They are highly
intelligent and are very eager to please their owners. Not
only are Vizslas great pointers they are also excellent
retrievers. In addition, they are first-rate swimmers and
like all good gun dogs they require a good deal of exercise
to remain healthy and happy. Their gait is far reaching,
light footed, smooth and graceful. Truly a beautiful dog to
watch in their natural hunting environment.

Vizslas Are Fantastic Family Pets. They
quickly form close bonds with their owners, including
children. They are demonstrably affectionate, loyal,
even-tempered and gentle dogs. However they can also be
fearless, with a well developed protective instinct for
their owners. It should be noted that Vizslas are
self-cleaning dogs; this is unique in that they lack
that strong “doggie smell.” Also, Vizslas are much less
likely to cause allergic reactions due to their lack of
undercoat.
